John Madden retires from TV broadcasting

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

“It’s time. I’m 73 years old. My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall,” Madden said. “I have two great sons and their families and my five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I’m home and, more importantly, when I’m not.”

This is a sad day for football. Yea maybe he was the worst broadcaster ever to take the microphone (that’s an exaggeration, he certainly wasn’t in my eyes, but some people hated him), but any football fan knows that he not only revolutionized broadcasting, but he revolutionized the game itself, and he is one of the most football-knowledgable people on this good Earth. I will certainly miss him. We were all starting to get used to him being there forever, and I certainly wouldn’t have minded that, but he’s right. It’s his time, he should take it. Good luck with the rest of your life Mr. Madden, the booth will miss you.

Cardinals to listen to offers for Boldin

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

If Jerry Reese isn’t instantly on the phone to Cardinals GM Rod Graves already, I would be disappointed. I’m sure he is though.

Ken Whisenhunt said this: “Before the draft, you know there is going to be talk about Anquan and his situation and a trade. Since not a whole lot has changed with his contractual situation, we know that will come back. It would be foolish from our standpoint not to listen to those opportunities and see what actually exists. But I want to make the points — our goal is to re-sign him to a long-term deal. That hasn’t changed.”

Hopefully the Giants can capitalize. I’d much rather have Boldin than Braylon Edwards, especially if the Browns are asking for Steve Smith or Dominick Hixon.

Percy Harvin tests positive for marijuana

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

This is being reported by rotoworld. Looks like this kills his chances of being picked early, maybe he could fall to the Giants? Even if he does, does Jerry Reese take the chance with this new news? What do you guys think? Would you pick a guy who has fallen to you because of a positive drug test, especially in the recent wake of the Plax character issues?

Eli Manning FINALLY does a funny commercial

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

This one’s pretty freakin funny. Here, for your viewing pleasure:

Eli Manning fills in for Tiger Woods

Ken Palmer back in action, talks Burress

Friday, April 10th, 2009

We interviewed our good friend Ken Palmer, the editor of Giants Insider magazine, to ask him about the Plaxico Burress incident and what went down. He says the Giants went about the situation in the complete wrong way, and that they handled Burress with disrespect. He also talks about where the Giants go from here, including some interesting news regarding Braylon Edwards. Take a listen, this is a great interview for people following where the team is going for next season.

BREAKING NEWS - GIANTS RELEASE PLAXICO BURRESS

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

ESPN.com story

The Giants have reportedly released Plaxico Burress. We will get you more information as it comes out. Apparently he is facing gun possession charges which could land him in jail.

We will attempt to get an interview on this as soon as possible.

IN MY OPINION - This is a good move ONLY if they can finish it. It’s a 2 part move in my opinion, and the 2nd part consists of getting someone to replace him. The wide receiver personnel on the Giants right now is not good enough to get the job done. They need a dominant #1 receiver.

Plax to push back court date to work out plea deal

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Plaxico Burress will be in court today, but only to request more time to work out a plea deal with the DA. His attorney, Benjamin Brafman, said through e-mail, “He will be there, but it will be an adjournment only.”

Don’t forget, that in order to play this year, Plax has to weather not only the DA’s punishment for the charges, but also NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who can step in and hand out a suspension after the conclusion of the legal proceedings if he deems it necessary.

Huge interview comin your way

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Hey guys, remember how about a month or two ago I mentioned that there was a possibility we would line up a bigtime guest? Well I did. And now it’s a reality. Tomorrow at 2:30 we will be interviewing someone big within the Giants organization, and we will pass it along to you as soon as we’re done. You’ll find out who it is tomorrow, and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be asking him some questions about how the offseason has gone so far, how they plan to finish it off, maybe a draft question or two, and a thing or two about Plax. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Giants in talks with newely released WR Terrell Owens

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Just kidding!!! Haha, I thought I’d give you guys a heart attack or two just for fun. It’s ok though, I know you can handle it, because let’s face it, you’re a Giants fan. You schedule your weekly Sunday heart attack at the beginning of every season.

T.O. is a free agent. GET HIM AS FAR AWAY FROM NEW YORK AS POSSIBLE. His divisive nature would destroy everything this team has worked so hard to build over the past decade.

Imagine T.O. and Eli trying to have an interaction. It might go something like this:

TO: Eli, throw me the ball more!
Eli: Hey man, I’m trying my best out there, that’s all that matters right?
TO: ARE YOU SERIOUS!? *&%^$#@*&^%$&^%$ GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER MAN!
Eli: I’m just trying to help our team win. Please don’t yell at me. I don’t like it when people yell at me. It makes me shake, and then I throw the ball high.
TO: I WANT OUT OF THIS DUMP OF A CITY! THE QUARTERBACK SUCKS. *Proceeds to cry*

Yea. Not a good scenario. Please Jerry Reese, stay away from this possibly tempting idea.

I’ll keep this updated as moves are made. What do you guys think? To be honest with you…with the signing of Boley, our LB corps is looking a LOT better, although we could use some depth. That’s what the draft is for. I’m leaning more and more towards wanting us to draft a LB with the first pick, not a WR. We shouldn’t waste a draft pick on another #2 or #3 WR, we have plenty of those. We need a #1. And that’s not gonna come from the draft, unless we move up for Crabtree.
